    Company: History

    Over forty years of experience and passion working on Made in Italy furniture

    Maurizio Minacciolo, grew up in his father’s furniture business and has always been passionate about the industry.  In the early 70s he decided to chase his dream of setting up a small company. His idea was to industrialise the manufacturing of country furniture in the ampezzo-tirol style which was highly fashionable at that time. In 1973 the first factory was built and Minacciolo, thanks to the increasingly positive response from the market, experienced rapid growth. And as a result in 1985 the new headquarters in San Biagio di Callalta were opened: a factory of 3,000m2, which has since been extended up to 12,000m2. As a result of the refined woodwork and the innovative furniture collections that were being sold, the Company was making headway and began to develop its commercial and distribution structure.

    1991 was a major turning point. Minacciolo continued innovating and constantly working to make themselves the best they could be. From this the Tolà collection was born. This was a collection of original country style furniture where elegant colours such as “green sage” and “powder blue” elegantly emerged to reflect provincial, English and Umbrian-Tuscan styles. All of this grew organically from the cutting edge technology they used as well as their Italian know-how which are all part of their heritage. In the 90s, the Company was already well established and recognised on a national level.  It then became known on international markets for its high quality and innovative features.

    In 2001, during this commercial boom period, another important manufacturing milestone was achieved. Minacciolo created the new English Mood collection that was immediately successful. Characterised by delicate and refined lines, this collection gave an added chic dimension to the country style which resulted in a renewed personality and a new development in furniture. From its original design which appealed only to country homes Minacciolo’s new country chic design opened up a whole new dimension.

    Over the following years, the English Mood collection was constantly being developed and expanded, continually being adapted so as to meet the new demands on the market. Today, this collection offers a complete “house programme”, offering unprecedented elegance and stylistic continuity in any home: from the kitchen to the dining room, from the bedroom to the bathroom. As well as this already appealing and recognised collection, Minacciolo created two new collections in 2012 on the occasion of Eurocucina, with an original and personal contemporary design. Minà and Natural Skin, also use materials that are all natural and these remain the traditional ones.

    At the various point of sales throughout Italy, the Company started to work alongside single brand stores. These are specifically designed and set up so that the client can touch the various products and fully enjoy the atmosphere and furniture in a harmonious and relaxed setting.

  • Innovation

    A completely eco-sustainable company

    Minacciolo has always been concerned with the important issue of respecting the environment and actively protecting it. Being eco-sustainable is a key value for the company and at the very beginning this was translated into a firm commitment. A commitment which has been constantly honoured over the years, always bearing in mind the various aspects and implications of its design, manufacturing and transport activities.

    Just like its products, Minacciolo's commitment to the environment is the fruit of a genuine and natural standpoint. And that's not just a token comment. The company's every move is underpinned by its wholehearted respect for its public (in the widest and most global sense of the word) and itself.

    Minacciolo thinks that a development plan which is truly and effectively eco-sustainable can only have one operating style. One defined by a serious commitment to producing beautiful, functional, long lasting and high quality furniture with zero impact, as far as is technically and practically possible This includes changing technologies and internal processes over time to better espouse the cause of this ethical and manufacturing commitment. Without compromise.

    Natural materials only

    Minacciolo only uses material from natural sources, rejecting materials made using chemicals or plastic. In fact, all the furniture is made using exclusively solid wood. In addition to being beautiful and high quality, the furniture is therefore free from formaldehyde emissions, which are damaging to health and the environment. The company also stands out for its work surfaces, using only natural or sustainable - also very elegant - materials, such as Cocciopesto, marble, metal and cement.

    The solid wood used for all Minacciolo products is always top quality. It comes exclusively from controlled reforestation plantations, and so has zero impact. The insides of the furniture, in addition to being from engineered solid wood, can also be made in panels of wood composite. In this case it is always exclusively class E1, which is certified in line with current health and safety regulations as having very low formaldehyde emissions and therefore completely harmless.

    PEFC certified wood only

    Minacciolo only uses PEFC certified wood to create its products. This certification guarantees that the wood comes from forests that are entirely sustainably managed. More specifically, the PEFC certification protects and promotes:

    • the conservation of forests as the habitat of animals and plants;
    • ensuring the forests are protected in relation to bodies of water, land and climate areas;
    • protecting the biodiversity of forest ecosystems;
    • verifying the origin of wood as a raw material;
    • cutting plants respecting the forest's natural growth cycle;
    • the areas where trees are felled are re-planted, or, preferably, naturally regenerated and renewed.
    • protecting the workers' rights and welfare
    • short supply chains;
    • guaranteeing that indigenous populations' rights and ownership of the forest is respected.

    Non-toxic varnish and glue only

    To stain its products, Minacciolo only uses water-based varnishes. These varnishes don't change the pleasing look and feel of the wood, and considerably lower the risk of toxic emissions, completely in keeping with CEE regulations. In addition, the company does not use harmful solvents or adhesives on its own production lines. Even the glues uses are certified as having very low formaldehyde emissions.

    Recycled packaging only

    Minacciolo is also concerned about what may seem to be details, but which are anything but. The material used as packaging for the products is largely boxes made from recycled card.

    Efficient energy systems only

    Over recent years, the company has installed a very efficient system, with the aim of preventing mass waste of energy. Not only that, the technological innovations implemented mean that the entire energy demand is self-produced.

    A large area of photovoltaic panels on the roof of the plant, together with a geothermal pump and a system which uses leftover shavings produce all the energy needed to power the entire structure: from the machines to the air conditioning and heating systems.

    Eco-sustainable products only

    Minacciolo constantly and concretely strives to design and offer unique products full of character. This is also true of the solutions adopted with regard to saving energy and eco-sustainability as part of our daily lives. More specifically, the company has adopted:

    • modified solutions using specific systems for sorting and managing domestic waste;
    • LED lighting for its furniture, a technology which allows up to 80% energy savings and lasts up to 10 times longer than traditional light bulbs;
    • the exclusive use of electrical appliances with high energy savings.
  • Mission

    Eco-friendly with careful attention to detail

    Craft traditions and design culture - in other words the authentic “Made in Italy” label - are the key values on which Minacciolo bases its forty years of manufacturing activities in the field of wooden furniture and designs to furnish every room in your home. These values and the commitment to using quality materials alongside the most cutting edge technology have set the Company apart over the last few years and confirmed their position as international market leader amongst furniture manufacturers in both country and contemporary styles. The brand is leading the way and once again, market leader in country chic furnishings.

    Based on Nature

    All of Minacciolo’s products are made with natural materials. The wood, PEFC certified, comes from controlled tree plantations.  The solid wood used to make the furniture is coloured using non-toxic water based varnishes which doesn’t alter the touch and feel of the wood. The internal structures, in addition to the laminated wood, are E1 class MDF, in accordance with the health and safety standards in force. In fact neither chemical nor plastic materials feature anywhere in their designs. But Minacciolo’s eco-awareness is reflected also in their highly efficient energy system which allows the Company to produce their own energy. A photovoltaic installation positioned on the factory roof produces all the energy they need for the structure and the equipment to run as well as the air-conditioning and heating units.

    Always the first choice

    The materials used by the Company are all natural, for example wood, metal and various selections of stones and flooring materials made of a compound based on hydraulic lime and crushed bricks. Their first choice of wood is exclusively the solid wood type.  For this, the wooden furniture solutions are aesthetically pleasing as well as being reliable and durable. The timber comes from selected tree plantations in Northern Europe where the high altitude and the fertility constraints explain their grainy appearance which is both uniform and dense with the absence of knots.

    All about “Made in Italy”

    The strong crafts tradition and the well-established design culture which are part of the Made in Italy label, are also the philosophical basis for the country style furniture and design solutions that are fully created and manufactured by Minacciolo, under their direct and careful qualitative control. Every minimal detail is carried out with maximum attention to detail, and patiently refined based on “state of the art” processes. And finally, the precision in assembly means that each individual piece of furniture is robust and safe.

    The hardware components are completely hidden into every piece of furniture: leaving only the natural materials to take center stage.
